Henley-Putnam University Enhances its Mentoring Program
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) April 9, 2008 -- Henley-Putnam University (www.henley-putnam.edu), a premier university for online higher education in the field of Strategic Security, is pleased to announce enhancements to its mentoring program. The new comprehensive assessment survey helps to make sure that mentors are matched with the right students, based on a student's needs, interests, and career aspirations. It also helps to ensure that mentors can have the greatest amount of impact in working with students.
In this exclusive program, students are paired remotely with a career mentor in their chosen field. Thus every student receives an independent advisor to guide them through their matriculation process. Mentors and students working together create an elite community of peers and a spirit of giving back. Students and mentors are paired after the administering of an assessment process which is used to correctly match up the student with a mentor and are paired for as long as students have a career in their field. Mentors, only some of whom may come from the faculty ranks, are seasoned and/or recently retired high level professionals from all areas of the security world, currently including more than 60 individuals having distinguished and diverse backgrounds in private security, local law enforcement, federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and within special units from across every branch of the military.
"We are thrilled to offer this comprehensive matching system to our students," says Greg Von Gehr, CEO, Henley-Putnam University. "Our mentorship program provides students with valuable industry contacts and will help students and mentors form close bonds that may further assist students with their career advancement."
