The Benefits of Mainstream Education
Mainstream education is often rejected in preference of privatised education by the wealthy, and is thought of as a more rounded education for the next generation. By paying the extortionate tuition fees for private education, the impression is that the quality and performance around exam time reflect the value paid to produce more academic pupils with a better chance in life. But how does mainstream education weigh up against privatised ones, and can it possibly provide the same level of value as private education? In this article, we'll look at how mainstream education levels up against the private education system, and the benefits of mainstream schooling for your child. Mainstream education, or state education as it can also be referred to, works on the basis of education of a community of children. The public nature of this system means that children of all backgrounds, religions and classes mingle and mix naturally, learning to work and learn together in an environment that will prove stable for future years, through employment and life in general. From this comes a more general feeling of tolerance and acceptance, and a more grounded approach to problem solving and justice. Through allowing your children to experience the mainstream of education and society, you are exposing your child to the general values and experiences that will stand them in good stead for future years. Mainstream education also provides your child with the opportunity to expand and develop to his potential in a stable environment, without the elitism and feeling of high self-value that often plagues the public school contingent. In addition, by installing the morals and decency necessary for your child to go far in life, the state education system provides a better platform for later life than many private institutions. By allowing your child to experience the range of differing opinions and viewpoints in the mainstream, you will enable your child to form a more rounded picture of life after school, morality and problem-solving, rather than the stricter exam-centric approach of many private educational institutions. Additionally, the mainstream education system allows your child to communicate with all aspects of society without having to pay for a rather isolated upbringing that many privately-educated students are subjected to. Thus, public institutions can provide a greater understanding of the workings of society. Mainstream education is a necessity for those below the very upper echelons of the wealthy and aristocratic, and forms a fundamental aspect of the welfare system central to modern government whilst providing the mainstay of many a child's upbringing. It also provides an opportunity for social and personal development through adolescence and beyond, providing a stable environment for learning and intellectual development in a collective class environment. Above all, it allows pupils to integrate with others from all different aspects of society, and provides a more balanced understanding of the world and the way it operates. When it comes to educating your children, mainstream schooling can provide the learning environment most conducive to success and social awareness in throughout life.
