Catholic Education Office Licenses VIP Tone's School MATRIX® Data Zone for Statewide Data Collection and Reporting

Adelaide, South Australia (PRWeb) March 27, 2007 -- The School MATRIX Data Zone is VIP Tone's proprietary data integration tool which was designed specifically to address the growing demands placed on large education organizations for system wide reporting.

Mr. Mittiga, Chief Information Officer for the Catholic Education Office explained that his organization periodically collects and collates data from each of its 100 plus schools to meet its obligation for state and federal reporting as well as for its own planning purposes. "This process can be very time consuming and frustrating to the schools," said Mr. Mittiga. "Schools are frequently asked to generate and submit different reports, and at times the reporting requirements are not known well in advance."

Mr. Mittiga added "We plan to implement the Data Zone, not only to make our reporting process more efficient and responsive, but also and perhaps more importantly by eliminating the need for schools to generate their own reports, we will save schools valuable time that can be better spent catering for the education of our children."

"The Data Zone performs three key functions to help large educational organizations collate data from their schools," said Adel Habib, President of VIP Tone Australia. "First it collects data that is typically stored on local servers in each school as soon as the data is entered or modified. Then it transforms the data collected from each school into a standard set of data that can be used for system wide reporting. Finally, it loads this collated data into a central server that acts as a data store for the entire organization."

In the United States, the Data Zone has been successfully tested in a number of counties and school districts where it has been very efficient in saving school staff a considerable amount of time.

Many of those districts in the United States using the Data Zone have also implemented VIP Tone's School MATRIX® Web Viewer and School MATRIX® Web Reports. Once data is collected centrally by the Data Zone these add-on modules allow districts to securely publish each school's data on the Internet, thereby allowing administrators, teachers, students and parents to access data which otherwise is restricted to a handful of administrators.
