Sun Grove Montessori School Announces that the Ground Breaking for Their Middle School Will Take Place March 13, 2007, at 2:00 p.m.

(PRWeb) February 26, 2007 -- Sun Grove Montessori School announces that the ground breaking for their middle school will take place March 13, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Fort Pierce Mayor Bob Benton. The public and media are invited to enjoy the ceremony along with the students, parents and faculty.

Sun Grove Montessori School follows the Montessori philosophy with the fundamental tenet that a child learns best within a social environment which supports each individual's unique development. Montessori education was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori as a result of her scientific observations of the behavior of young children.

Sun Grove Montessori School began as a preschool and elementary school in 1974. By 1985 demand called for the construction of the original two buildings where Sun Gove now operates. In 1996 an additional building was constructed to house a Montessori infant/toddler program. By fall of 2007 the middle school for students 12 through 14 (7th and 8th grades) will be completed.

Concurrent with the ground breaking ceremony will be the launch of the capital campaign to raise funds for the Sun Grove Montessori Middle School. Past and present Montessorians as well as champions of education are being asked to support this campaign. Donors will be remembered with their name in a brick walkway leading to the Middle School Building. Other naming rights throughout the campus are available also.
